Kate was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy in the summer of 2019 at the age of 20. After undergoing several different treatments, including steroids and chemotherapy, her disease is still uncontrolled. Sitting in Stage 3 she is still hopeful to find a treatment plan that will work for her. Kate is driven to make a difference and is eager to reach patients earlier in their diagnosis.
Kate is our Operations Manager for the Ambassador Program, she works closely with the program Co-Chairs to keep things moving forward and running smoothly. Kate is motivated to change the stigma around mental health and is a firm believer in patients finding activities that provide them an escape. To get out of her head she finds herself enjoying a long run and rides horses weekly. In her free time, she is passionate about giving back to the community, you’ll find her volunteering at hospitals and schools with her certified therapy dog, a yellow lab named Dakoda.
