Michael and his wife Margaret met Bonnie and became engaged with IGAN after their son was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy. Their son eventually received a kidney transplant and recently battled Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder. Michael practiced family medicine for decades in Pennsylvania, served as a medical school professor in California and now resides in Florida. Michael, also a certified professional medical coder, auditor and compliance officer, promotes patient advocacy, particularly as it relates to the patient’s story being accurately documented in the health record.
